Six things that move the price
Two quotes can look far apart for reasons that have nothing to do with quality. These are the usual drivers.
Your pet's size and weight
Most providers price by weight band. A cat or small dog costs far less than a large-breed dog, and some providers add a surcharge above a set weight.
Communal, private or aquamation
Communal cremation is the most affordable. Private cremation costs more because your pet is handled individually. Aquamation is priced separately again where it is offered.
Transport and collection
Dropping your pet off yourself is usually cheapest. Home or veterinary-clinic pickup is often a flat fee or priced by distance.
Urn and memorial choices
A simple container may be included, while a chosen urn, keepsake or piece of jewellery is added on top. Ask what the headline price already covers.
Extras and timing
Witnessing the cremation, a rush or same-day return, a paw print or a scattering service each add to the total. None is required.

- A low “from” price is often a communal cremation with no ashes returned.
